Portobello-born and Edinburgh-based Singer and Songwriter, Adam Holmes, is one of the brightest of the Twenty- something Rising Stars on the Roots music scene, with influences from either side of the Atlantic, mixing traditional and contemporary Folk with his own brand of Soul and Americana.
Adam Holmes has been twice nominated for BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, whilst his first two Albums were also nominated for Scottish Album of the Year in 2014 and 2017. His first Album, “Heirs and Graces”, was produced by John Wood (producer of all the Nick Drake records and of the iconic “Solid Air” by John Martyn).
The second Album, “Brighter Still”, features the wonderful Eddi Reader on backing vocals throughout. Adam is now working on a joint songwriting project with Boo Hewerdine, a long time Eddi Reader collaborator.
In addition to his masterful songwriting and guitar playing, Adam Holmes has a voice to die for. Adam will play his Concert in Montrose in a Duo format, accompanied on keyboards and backing vocals by Jen Austin, formerly of Fara.
Admission is £12.00, payable in Cash at the Door, or tickets can be reserved by emailing kenneth@fivefurlongs.plus.com.
