Acoustic Music at Montrose Playhouse present in Cinema 3, on Tuesday, 13 th
August at 8.p.m, as the first Gig of their Autumn 2024 Season, a Concert by the
brilliant Kris Drever. This will also be the Second Fortieth Anniversary Concert
to celebrate the fortieth birthday in 2024 of Montrose Folk Club.
Award-winning guitarist, Singer, Songwriter and prolific collaborator, Kris
Drever, has been one of the leading lights on the Scottish Folk and Roots scene
for almost two decades.
A highly skilled guitarist, who adroitly blends traditional folk and flat picking
with more contemporary influences, Kris Drever is an astonishingly fine
interpreter of material by other songwriters. In recent years, Kris has also built
up a well deserved reputation as a songwriter in his own right.
Although he played on many occasions in the Links Hotel, this will be the first
appearance of Kris Drever in the brilliant acoustic and comfort of Montrose
Playhouse. His previous gigs in Montrose were with Fine Friday, then as a solo
performer and also as a member of the inventive powerhouse Trio, Lau.
Admission is £15.00 and tickets can be purchased beforehand by emailing
brucekenneth130@gmail.com. If the Gig is not a complete Sell-Out, tickets will
be available, in exchange for payment of Cash, at the Door on the night.
