Acoustic Music at Montrose Playhouse present in Cinema 3, on Tuesday, 11 th
February a return visit by Montrose Playhouse favourites, Boo Hewerdine and
Brooks Williams, aka State of the Union.
As State of the Union, Boo Hewerdine and Brooks Williams create a magical
and enthralling musical atmosphere with two guitars and two voices. Both Boo
and Brooks have an impeccable sense of rhythm and melodic beauty. They
interweave melodies and harmonies, nimble picking and full-tilt chording.
Over two decades, Boo Hewerdine has written thousands of published songs,
including those for Eddi Reader, Chris Difford, Kris Drever and KD Lang.
Americana Singer Songwriter and guitarist, Brooks Williams,, originally from
North Carolina, but now resident in Cambridge, England, has been ranked as
one of the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists in the World.
State of the Union have just released their Fourth Album, “ Paper Tigers”. The
release is to coincide with a month-long tour of the U.K.; the Gig at Montrose
Playhouse is the first date of the Tour.
