At Montrose Playhouse you will be joining an organisation whose purpose is to promote community engagement for the benefit of the public, and to advance arts, heritage, culture and education. By working in a common effort with local authorities, voluntary organisations, health and education providers and local groups we will make a positive impact on the lives of others. In the interest of social welfare our aim is to provide facilities, or assist in the provision of facilities, for leisure time involvement so that the conditions of life may be improved, without distinction of race, sex, sexuality, political, religious or other opinions.

The facility once open in Autumn 2021 will have a three screen cinema, flexible activity rooms (for art classes, conferences, parties, yoga, art exhibitions etc) a modern Cafe / Bar, A retail area and a range of socially inclusive programmes to benefit our community.

The Playhouse was built for the community by the community.
